Robert Newman

Service Specialist

Prior to joining Midwest Dental, I worked in retail for 18 years. I began as a sales associate and worked my way up to assistant manager of a retail store and then started a new job as a store manager at a local parts retailer. As a lot of people know, being in retail is very demanding on the managers. Not only must a manager work about 50 to 60 hours a week (and sometimes more), but they always have to work on holidays and never get to be with their family during the holidays. It began to take its toll on both myself and my family. I didn't want my daughter to grow up without her dad there all of the time. I had to start looking for another job that wouldn't be a cut in pay and wouldn't require me to work as many hours every week.

I came across an employment ad for Midwest Dental on a Web site and decided to give it a try. During the interview, [Service Manager] Eddie Cluley began describing the position of a service tech for Midwest Dental and the number of hours that are required to work and a little about the company. When he was describing Midwest Dental, he talked about how family oriented the company was. I started thinking to myself that this is the company that I would love to work for. After another interview, Eddie called me back to tell me that I got the job.

Thinking back on my first Christmas party with Midwest Dental, for the first time in my 18 years of working, everyone had bowed their heads and prayed over the food. I have never been with a company that actually prayed before a meal. After that first Christmas party, I knew that this is the company I wanted to stay with for a long time. I have now been with Midwest Dental since 2008. This company is a true blessing for my family and myself. Let Midwest Dental become a blessing to you.
